busy busy busy!!!!

Hi sorry for it being so long since my last post.  I've been busy working multiple jobs this holiday season so i have been cross stitching as much as i would like, however i did manage to get a few done.

I got this pattern from the spring special of CSC.  it was a fast but cute project done in four shades of blue!

I made this pattern by looking at a picture so i'm sorry if its off a bit lol! i have a couple of friends who are crazy for doctor who so when i saw the picture i thought it would be  a perfect gift for one of them.  the other friend asked me to make her one so she can wear it on her wedding day go figure!

this is a work in progress it is a Japanese kimono!

newest creations!

i ordered this book from bamm a week ago it finally came in its called twisted stitches.  it has some weird patterns in it but i loved the bookmark pattern i saw on a blog not to long ago and wanted to make it.  it also had a day of the dead skull my uncle wanted.  here is the bookmark.

i also made this cute samurai frog for my dad and a pink bunny i found in a couple of cross stitch magazines :)  i think i might have to cool it on the cross stitching for a bit as my wrist has been hurting lately but there are so many i still want to make *sigh*

drama!

My friend Rachel has been encouraging me to finish love rain.  i have a habit of not finishing dramas i love due to not wanting them to end (silly i know).  I finally finished it but the last 4 episodes while good drove me mad with the back and forth drama between the characters had it not of been Jang Geun Suk i probably wouldn't have finished it but I'm glad i did.  It was a great drama worth watching.

Instead of finishing it as the series aired i started a new drama called To The Beautiful You.  it is based on the manga Hana Kimi (yes it is like the 7th one) this one i had to see because Minho from SHINee is the star playing the part of Tea Joon (sano for those who read the manga).  it is amazing how there can be so many versions but each one has a different take on the manga each one adds its own touch or uses something the others dont.  this one did away with the boy who sees ghost :( and made Sano's rival a classmate instead of from another school. they also added the fact that Tae Joon is a gold metal winner in the Olympics (since its an Olympic year) and the girl fighting for him was a gymnast (never seen that before!).  i am on ep 11 of 16 so far and i love it i cant wait for more and i hope Minho gets many more parts now for Taemin to get a lead role in a drama!

halloween stitching!

hi again my mom decided she wanted a halloween tree this year so i have been busy making ornaments for her.  Here are a few.

this one is actually a trick or treat bag

this is after my friend rachel did the cording for me!

venom

Since i work at a bookstore i  get to read advanced copies of books occasionally.  recently i read Venom by Fiona Paul.  Its a teen book due out October 1st 2012.  It focuses on a young lady named Cassandra living in Venice.  It is a coming of age story filled with mystery and mayhem with a dash of romance.  I don't normally read teen books but this one was exceptionally good and i highly recommend it!  it was a fast and easy read for those of you who are slow readers and it will be guaranteed to keep your full attention.
Hi again! my friends and i recently finished a new drama called i really really like you.  it was sooo cute!  it was a bit drawn out but the main characters were so lovable it was hard to be upset with it.  the story revolves around a young lady (Yeo Bong Soon) from the country side who rescues the presidents son (Jang Joon Won) when he has an accident.  Yeo Bong Soon (Eugene) leaves her mountain village and comes to Seoul to live and look for her parents after her foster 'grandmother' passes away. She finds a job as an assistant cook at the President's Blue House canteen and later, in the Blue House kitchen. She falls for Jang Joon Won (Ryu Jin), a highly intellectual doctor; however, he is married with a five-year-old daughter. His wife is suffering from dementia. As Bong Soon finds herself falling in love with Joon Won, a love triangle builds up when Bong Ki (Lee Min Ki), the President's family's bodyguard, starts to fall for the hillbilly Bong Soon! The drama explores about how Bong Ki gets in touch with his own feelings and how Bong Song's generosity makes the men fall for her.

I Also started a new drama called To a Beautiful You.  it is based on the hana kimi manga (like so many before it) but this one stars Minho form SHINee and Sulli from F(x).  i absolutely love SHINee so its no wonder i love this drama already only 6 episodes are out so far i cant wait for more though!

In other news I started a new cross stitch project for my dad's birthday.  he loves frogs so i am making him a frog holding a birthday cake.  i will post pictures as soon as i can :)

till next time!

Busy Busy Busy!

I know i haven't been on much been working 11 hours days 7 days a week so i haven't had much time for anything lately.  i start a new job today yea!  in honor of my segregate grandma's birthday i made this cute little pillow!

i also made this for my best friend's daughter Serenity's first birthday since the party was hello kitty themed.

and finally i got some dissolvable canvas for stitching on fabric to try it out i made this for my mom.  its a pattern I've been wanting to do for years but never got around to.  unfortunately the black fabric bled on the thread when i put it in the water to dissolve. so be warned!  well till next time!

marathan museum run

yesterday my research team and i went to the colored cowboy museum here in fort worth. when we arrived the owner told us it was his birthday and that he had to give us a short version so he could get to his party.  he was incredibly nice and the 7 minute tour was great.  the museum featured native American, African American, Hispanic and Asian cowboys through the years.  he was telling us about how they plan to expand next year too.  he then invited us to his birthday party/ mixer at the fancy hotel downtown.  we were reluctant to attend but agreed to follow him so we could see the museum near by.  he thought it closed at 6 but as it would have it it closed at 5 so we had 5 minutes to view the exhibits. the paintings (i regret to say i didn't get the artist names we were so rushed) we of cowboys and native Americans.  you could feel the fire from the paintings and the cold harsh snow in others.  i was grateful to get to see them.  after the museum closed we went to his birthday party and met the city commissioner of fort worth. he was very nice and was telling us about how he wanted to move the archives to a more accessible location.  i hope your day was as eventful as my 30 minutes was!  after we left the party we went to a fort worth tradition t.j. Garcia's for dinner the food was excellent even though they only have 2 menu items.  the mariachi band was great and the gardens were amazing i highly recommend it!.

scarriest trip ever

so we flew to fort worth today on united airline.  when we got to the Pensacola airport we stopped to get a drink i looked out and the plane had tape on the nose cone i able had a panic attack.  the power went off twice at the airport before we boarded and the ride was bumpy.  then we got to Houston for our flight change and almost missed the flight even though we were sitting right there because we couldn't hear the announcements.   we were at the back and you could smell the bathroom and the plane fumes it was hot too so Chelsey and i got air sick.  then it took two hours to get our rental car.  when we finally arrived at the hotel (very nice by the way) we got in the elevator and it would go up a few feet then drop back down (we are still air sick at this point not helping that) we finally got it to stop and rushed out carrying Chelsey's luggage up the stairs.  lol i was never so glad to see solid ground.

on another point i recently have been reading katie macalister's books i highly recommend them.  i read "its all Greek to me" last week on my trip to Birmingham and it was awesome.  i loved it so much i got "you slay me" for this trip i like it so far.  she has such a great sense of humor.  i also have been watching "Love Rain" it is a Korean drama staring Jang Geun Suk (love him!!!!)  he plays the dad in the 1970's and the son in 2012 the female star is from girls generation.  i love this show i cant wait for the rest of it!

well hello!

Its been a while but i have had that crud that has been going around since mardi gras.  i have been working on my gaara cross stitch pattern from naruto but i need a better camera to pick up the color differences in the piece.  I also started watching two need Korean dramas.

The first is called Flower Boy Ramyun Shop.  it was really cute and very funny.  The main character eunbi who is 25 fell for a gorgeous guy named Cha Chi Soo she met in the women's bathroom.  she later finds out that he is 6 years younger then her and she is an intern at his school so she backs off.  then enters Choi Kang Hyuk who is 6 years older then her claiming to be her husband.  all kinds of hilarity ensues.  i highly recommend it.

the second was Shut Up! Flower Boy Band.  it is still airing and i have seen 8 eps so far.  It is about a group of 6 rockers called Eye Candy.   Kwon Ji Hyuk is the secondary leader of the band after thier leader dies tragically.  they are sent to a new school and begin a rivalry with the band strawberry fields led by the richest boy in school Yoo Seung Hoon who is courting the deceased leaders muse Im Soo Ah.

this is a very awesome drama.  i only started watching it for the main actor who was in lie to me and the deceased leader who was in i really really like you and L from infinite.  lol I'm so shallow when it comes to picking dramas :)

Happy New Year!

Well a new year has begun (yes i know i'm a bit late :p) and with it i am learning to sew from my mom!  Between fighting with the machine to get the bottom threaded and stitching a straight line the my butt is getting kicked by an inanimate object *sigh*.  oh well you can't win them all on the first try :).  Here is my first attempt at finishing a project.  i still have to add the tassel but i'll tackle that once i'm done licking my wounds from the sewing machine.  I got the fabric at hancocks a while back.  i think it goes well with the theme.  I will either use a green or gold tassel i haven't decided yet.   I hope everyone one has a great new year ahead of them!
